Remote Senior Data Engineer

Description:

• We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team.
• In this role, you will play a crucial role in implementing and integrating client data into SmarterDx products, ensuring the seamless transformation and validation of data according to our standards.
• This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge ETL pipelines, enhance system resilience, and improve data processes.
• You will be responsible for transforming client data to SmarterDx standard data models.
• You will test and validate client data to SmarterDx data specifications.
• You will instantiate ETL pipelines that enable SmarterDx products to perform analyses on client data.
• You will focus on maintenance of recently created data pipelines.
• You will engage in initiatives that improve system resilience against unexpected changes, provide better instrumentation, and enhance monitoring for negative impacts.
• You will improve existing processes involving data mapping and standardization.
• You will participate in a rotation of engineers that diagnose, triage, and solve production data issues should they occur.
• You will apply industry standards and best practices where possible.

Requirements:

• You must have 5+ years of data engineering experience, preferably in the healthcare industry involving clinical and/or billing/claims data.
• You should be well versed in SQL and ETL processes, with experience in DBT being a significant plus.
• You must be comfortable with the essentials of data orchestration, with prior experience in Airflow and Python being a plus.
• You should own and take full responsibility for tasks from initiation to completion.
• You must demonstrate versatility and proficiency in navigating complex processes.
• You should approach ambiguity with an open mind, experiment with potential solutions, but know when to seek assistance.
• You must employ pragmatism in selecting the most straightforward and effective solution for tasks.
• You should welcome and provide constructive advice, prioritizing positive outcomes for the entire team.
