Description:

  • StackAdapt is a self-serve advertising platform that specializes in multi-channel solutions including native, display, video, connected TV, audio, in-game ads, and digital out-of-home ads.
  • The company is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a 7-month contract, working remotely from anywhere in Canada.
  • The Senior Data Engineer will report to the Director of the Enterprise Data Office (EDO) and will be responsible for data architecture, data pipelines, data operations, and platform management of the data lake and enterprise data warehouse currently under development.
  • This role involves assessing functional and non-functional business requirements to formulate a holistic data solution that meets business intelligence needs.
  • Responsibilities include building ingestion data pipelines from multiple data sources, architecting data models, building data transformation pipelines, configuring and automating pipeline orchestration, and collaborating with BI Engineers to meet stakeholder needs.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience leading data engineering within an Enterprise Data Warehouse environment is required.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift, and big data mediums like Delta Lake, Parquet, or Avro is necessary.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing architecture fundamentals, including Kimball/Inmon methodology, dimensional modeling, conformed dimensions, and slowly changing dimensions (SCDs) is essential.
  • Proven experience managing cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with knowledge of container technologies such as Kubernetes and networking fundamentals is required.
  • Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT data pipelines using custom-coded scripts (e.g., Spark, Python, Java, SQL stored procedures) and integration platforms (e.g., PowerCenter, DataStage, Talend) is necessary.
  • Highly experienced in orchestrating data operations using tools such as Apache Airflow, Cron, or Astronomer, and administering the data platform via Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform) is required.
