Description:

  • The Senior Data Engineer role at SiteMinder involves being part of the core data engineering team responsible for the entire data platform and associated solutions.
  • Responsibilities include building core data platform and pipeline components from scratch, analysing and optimizing existing data architecture, integrating various data source systems, and ensuring the data architecture works optimally.
  • The role is within the Enterprise Data Management and Analytics (EDMA) team, which caters to all analytical needs across the company.

Requirements:

  • Must have 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role with at least 1 complete cloud data implementation project experience.
  • Experience in developing Enterprise data architecture using the latest Big Data technologies, particularly Open Source.
  • Strong technical abilities in Python, Spark, and SQL are required.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS data services like Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Redshift, Athena, Lambda, etc., is a must.
  • Proficiency in creating and managing Data Platforms through IaaC tools like Terraform.
  • Experience in designing complex workflows on scheduling tools like Airflow, AWS Data pipeline, etc.
  • Familiarity with managing Snowflake Data Warehouse and Data Modelling.
  • Experience in developing customised integration layers in Python through REST and SOAP API architectures.
  • Understanding of data architecture related services and trends on AWS Data Lake and Snowflake.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, strong communication and documentation skills, and the capability to work well in in-person and remote team situations.
