Description:
The Senior Data Engineer will be part of the NIQ Activate team, which serves retailers and brands worldwide using advanced Big Data, real-time analytics, and data science automation.
This role is remote-based in Canada, and candidates must be physically located in Canada.
Responsibilities include leading data onboarding workstreams with new customers, working directly with customers’ data teams on data interfaces and integration projects, and designing, implementing, and maintaining reliable data pipelines and interfaces for various analytics applications.
The engineer will also design, develop, and maintain ETL processes from various data streams, create and maintain data transformation and validation processes, and perform data validation activities to solve data-related problems.
The role supports data architecture efforts for key analytics innovations involving multiple stakeholders.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience as a data engineer in ETL and data integration.
A minimum of 5+ years in a client-facing consultation role with project management expertise is required, along with excellent communication skills.
Strong development experience in Python and Pyspark is necessary.
Candidates should have strong SQL skills with experience in querying large, complex datasets.
Experience with Databricks, Spark, Airflow, and Scala is required.
Familiarity with retailer and supplier analytics data is essential.
Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure, is strongly preferred.
Candidates should have experience in data integration design, development, and maintenance, as well as data lakes/hubs.
A result-driven, pragmatic, and innovative mindset is important.
Experience in developing REST APIs and microservices is required.
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, or Math (or equivalent experience) is necessary.
Experience with SingleStore, Snowflake, and BI tools like PowerBI is a plus.
