Jobber is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Data Platform team, working remotely in Canada.
The role involves building Jobber’s data infrastructure and systems to improve operational outcomes and enhance workflow efficiencies.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining batch and real-time data pipelines within cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
The Senior Data Engineer will leverage Python, SQL, and AWS technologies (Glue, Lambda, ECS Fargate) to ensure smooth data operations.
The position requires developing tools and frameworks to automate manual processes and support cross-functional teams in data accessibility.
Collaboration with data analysts, scientists, and product teams is essential to extract actionable insights from data.
The role includes leading initiatives to research and propose new technologies for the data stack, focusing on performance and scalability.
The Senior Data Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining data integrity and trust across the organization.
Requirements:
Proven leadership skills and the ability to foster a culture of shared success in team environments.
Strong coding skills in Python and SQL are required.
Expertise in building and maintaining ETL pipelines using tools like Airflow and dbt is necessary.
Experience with AWS data infrastructure, particularly Redshift, Glue, Lambda, and ECS Fargate, is essential.
Familiarity with handling large datasets using tools like Spark or similar is required.
Experience with Terraform for infrastructure management is necessary.
Knowledge of dimensional modeling, star schemas, and data warehousing in a cloud environment, preferably AWS Redshift, is required.
Understanding of CI/CD processes, data ingestion, and optimizing data flow across systems is essential.
Proficiency in working with high-volume, scalable data infrastructure is necessary.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams are required.
Experience with AWS tools like EMR and SageMaker, familiarity with Kafka, knowledge of NoSQL databases, and hands-on experience with integration and APIs are considered a plus.
