Description:
Design creative data engineering solutions for business challenges in the highly regulated healthcare industry.
Rapidly iterate on development with early-stage products to achieve product-market fit.
Own and automate healthcare data ETL processes.
Transform high variability complex data structures from diverse sources into a common data model with high integrity.
Build reliable, scalable data pipelines from ingestion to consumption by analysts, scientists, and data visualization experts.
Follow data engineering best practices like code reviews, version control, unit testing, and data integrity checks.
Collaborate with clinicians, product managers, and data experts to define and maintain data models for healthcare use cases.
Proactively document code, release notes, and decisions.
Requirements:
6+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar field.
5+ years of software engineering experience with agile frameworks.
Strong SQL skills.
Proficiency in at least one programming language like Python, Java, or Scala.
Experience building pipelines in a cloud environment.
Familiarity with Airflow, dbt, or other workflow management platforms.
Experience with big data systems like S3, Presto, Redshift, or Snowflake.
Exceptional data modeling and database design skills.
Knowledge of data architectures for Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and Data Mart implementations.
Comfortable working in a collaborative, agile development environment.
Understanding of clinical systems and real-world data sets.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a quantitative field.
Deep understanding of clinical data elements and terminology.
Knowledge of Agile delivery management and DevOps.
Familiarity with healthcare information models like HL7, FHIR, OMOP, PCORNET.
Experience with GxP and non-GxP data is a plus.
Understanding of information security best practices related to HIPAA.
