MagicSchool is a premier generative AI platform for teachers, with over 5 million teachers globally.
The Senior Data Engineer - Analytics will develop and maintain the core data warehouse on Google BigQuery and AWS data infrastructure for the data science team.
This role involves designing efficient data pipelines and models to support data-driven decisions across the organization.
Responsibilities include designing, building, and optimizing data warehouse architecture, developing ETL/ELT pipelines, and ensuring data quality.
The engineer will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product managers to meet their data needs and document data models and pipelines.

Requirements:

Candidates must have expert-level SQL proficiency and a strong work ethic.
A deep understanding of data warehousing principles and data modeling is required.
Experience with cloud-based data warehouses, particularly BigQuery, is essential.
Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, with a preference for those with 5+ years focused on data warehousing.
Familiarity with data quality concepts and experience with Python for data engineering is necessary.
Nice to have experience includes working with DBT or similar data transformation tools.
