Remote Senior Data Engineer

Description:

• Mainstay is a leading market intelligence platform focused on the single-family rental industry, launched as an independent company in 2024.
• The Senior Data Engineer will be part of the Data Platform team, responsible for building data products in collaboration with data science and product teams.
• This role offers the unique opportunity to have data engineering outputs that are shipped as products rather than just internal resources.
• The primary customers are businesses in the single-family home market, and the goal is to provide high-quality data for underwriting, leasing, and vendor management.
• Responsibilities include architecting durable data models, designing reliable workflows, informing the overall architecture of the data platform, establishing standards and best practices, and becoming a domain expert in real estate.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 6+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering.
• Expertise in data architecture, data modeling, and building data pipelines at scale is required.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Spark is necessary.
• Candidates should have experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
• Experience in scheduling and operating batch data processing workflows is essential.
