Description:

Mozilla Corporation is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Analytics Engineering team, focusing on data modeling to support data-informed decisions across the organization.
The role involves maintaining and improving the data platform, including recent enhancements like a data catalog and data quality checks.
Responsibilities include collaborating with data scientists to design data models, maintaining scalable data models and ETL pipelines, improving data ingestion and transformation infrastructure, and establishing best practices for data governance.

Requirements:

A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data engineering is required.
Proficiency in SQL and Python is essential.
Candidates must have experience designing data models that represent business activities for analysis.
Strong software engineering fundamentals, including modularity, abstraction, data structures, and algorithms, are necessary.
The ability to work collaboratively with a distributed team and strong communication skills are required for effective teamwork across different time zones.
Proficiency in one or more of the following areas is needed: using data to guide company decisions, designing flexible data models, recommending new data collection methods, data infrastructure experience, building modular ETL/ELT pipelines, and experience with scalable distributed systems on cloud providers like Google Cloud Platform.
