Description:
Bluesight is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to help build the next generation of healthcare pharmacy e-commerce.
The role involves creating a new solution that will assist hospitals across the country by providing insights into the pharmacy supply chain.
Responsibilities include defining, designing, implementing, and maintaining data architectures and infrastructure that unify core products and enhance understanding of customer medication workflows.
The engineer will dive deep into the interactions between the FDA, healthcare systems, and drug manufacturers at the medication level.
The position requires developing and promoting good data stewardship and governance practices across the company while collaborating closely with the Security team.
The engineer will design and support customer-facing data products with API and interactive components.
The role also includes providing service levels to data scientists who are clients of the data pipelines and architecture.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Data Engineering role is required.
Expertise in data orchestration and workflow management tools such as Apache Airflow, Apache NiFi, Spark, and AWS Glue for ETL/ELT/Zero-ETL pipelines is necessary.
Competency in SQL, ETL processes, denormalization concepts, and programming languages such as dbt and Python is essential.
The ability to communicate clearly with diverse audiences about data architecture and implementations is required, along with strong written and analytical skills.
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or Terraform for building and maintaining data engineering pipelines is needed.
Familiarity with observability tools like DataDog for monitoring data pipelines and resolving customer issues is preferred.
Experience with data warehousing platforms and tools such as Amazon Redshift and Snowflake is required.
A strong bias for action, documentation, and education is essential.
The ability to work through ambiguity with open communication and autonomy is necessary.
