Description:
Paradigm is creating a platform to enable equitable access to clinical trials for all patients while enhancing trial efficiency and reducing barriers for healthcare providers.
The data engineering team is responsible for building the infrastructure for clinical care data, ingesting data from various sources such as Electronic Health Records, Lab providers, and Health Information Exchanges.
The team enriches, harmonizes, and makes data available for multiple consumers and product verticals, scaling architecture to support parallel data processing as the population and research footprint grows.
The Senior Data Engineer will partner closely with product managers, data scientists, and analysts to improve the breadth, quality, and completeness of data.
Responsibilities include owning critical system components, designing for performance, correctness, and reliability, and working on data lineage, derivation algorithms, parallel processing, automated monitoring, data quality, data warehouse architecture, and data modeling.
The role involves building and supporting robust batch and streaming pipelines, creating tools for data accessibility, evolving monitoring systems, and ensuring responsible data governance.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering is required.
Candidates must have experience driving technical projects, prioritizing work, identifying dependencies, and facilitating technical decisions and cross-functional discussions.
Depth of expertise in SQL and data analysis skills is essential.
Candidates should have experience in system design and data workflow optimization.
Proficiency in coding with Python or other programming languages is required.
Experience with ETL orchestration tools like Apache Airflow and Dagster is necessary.
Familiarity with data transformation tools such as dbt or dataform is required.
Experience with data warehouse databases like BigQuery, Redshift, or Snowflake is essential.
Candidates must have experience designing and implementing scalable, available, maintainable, and performant systems.
Experience in the healthcare data domain and with Epic Systems is a plus but not required.
