Remote Senior Data Engineer - Contract

• As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be pivotal in shaping data-driven strategies that enhance the experiences offered to members.
• Your insights will support business growth, inform product decisions, and drive efficiencies across the e-commerce subscription platform.
• You will collaborate closely with various teams, including Marketing, Product, Merchandising, Engineering, and Finance, to provide actionable data insights that influence decision-making and future roadmaps.
• This role focuses on leveraging advanced analytics and statistical techniques to support personalization, acquisition, retention, and growth strategies.
• You will be responsible for developing and supporting data pipelines that enable the overall strategy of expanded data programs, services, process optimization, and advanced business intelligence.
• You will design and develop scalable data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines in Big Data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid).
• You will lead data discovery sessions with business teams to understand enterprise data requirements of analytics projects.
• You will ensure proper testing and monitoring are in place to provide trusted and reliable data from the data stack.
• You will partner with business domain experts, system analysts, data/application architects, and development teams to ensure data design aligns with business strategy and direction.
• You will identify and document standard methodologies, standards, and architecture guidelines.
• You will assist Business Intelligence Engineers through technical hurdles impacting delivery.
• You will participate in a shared on-call rotation monitoring the health of the team’s systems.

Requirements:

• You must have 3+ years of data architecture related experience such as data analysis, data modeling, and data integration.
• You need 5+ years of experience in custom ETL design, implementation, and maintenance.
• You should possess advanced knowledge of programming languages, such as Python and Object Oriented Programming.
• You must have hands-on experience with SQL database design.
• You should have experience working on Cloud Platforms, specifically AWS or Google.
• You need experience working on CI/CD processes and source control tools such as GitHub and GitLab.
• You should have experience working with relational databases like Snowflake and Redshift.
• You must have strong knowledge of orchestration tools (AirFlow preferred), file storage systems (AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage), partitioning, and real-time processing of data.
• You should have strong knowledge and experience with Agile/Scrum methodology and iterative practices in a service delivery lifecycle.
• You must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to influence a large organization.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
