The Senior Data Engineer is a key member of the data team, responsible for expanding and optimizing data ingestion, pipeline, and identity resolution architecture.
This role ensures seamless data flow and collection across cross-functional teams, enabling data-driven decision-making.
The position involves collaborating with Software Engineers, Staff/Principal Engineers, and Business Data Engineers to develop data-driven features and maintain optimal data architecture.
Responsibilities include identifying, designing, and implementing internal improvements such as process automation, data delivery optimization, and scalable infrastructure enhancements.
The Senior Data Engineer will design and implement scalable data models while building and maintaining ETL pipelines for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading from various sources using SQL, DBT, and Python.
The role requires supporting stakeholders by working closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Staff/Principal engineers to address technical data challenges and support infrastructure needs.
The engineer will occasionally consult with other departments to assemble large, complex datasets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field is required.
Strong experience in developing data pipelines using Python and DBT/SQL is essential.
Proven ability to design, build, and optimize scalable, reliable pipelines with deep knowledge of data modeling and transformation best practices is necessary.
Hands-on experience with Airflow (or other equivalent tools) for task automation is required.
Proficiency in developing unit and integration tests, with quality gates to ensure data accuracy and reliability in pipelines, is expected.
Experience supporting and partnering with teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment is essential.
