Description:
Kueski is a leading platform for buy now, pay later (BNPL) and online consumer credit in Latin America, aiming to improve the financial lives of people in Mexico since 2012.
The Senior Data Engineer will develop complex data processing systems to support data consumers and provide data-driven solutions.
Key responsibilities include designing robust and scalable data solutions, developing complex data processing systems, and creating CI/CD flows for automated production deployments.
The role involves developing infrastructure as code, applying data cleaning techniques, and mentoring junior team members.
The engineer must have a deep understanding of the data stack and the components of the data platform, designing complex distributed systems with a focus on delivering results.
Collaboration with technical leaders, architects, and stakeholders is essential, as well as participating in methodology discussions and code reviews.
Requirements:
Proven ability to transform requirements into functional software in production.
Effective collaboration skills within an interdisciplinary team.
Capability to lead medium to high complexity projects requiring multiple iterations and different technologies.
Strong understanding of a well-structured software development life cycle (SDLC).
Advanced knowledge in integrating non-functional requirements into solution delivery.
Experience in designing, implementing, testing, and deploying production-ready code.
Proficiency in designing and troubleshooting data processing solutions.
Skills in building and debugging Spark-based applications.
Ability to collaborate with data consumers on large-scale data analysis and machine learning techniques.
Strong technical knowledge in programming, preferably in Java and Python; Scala is a plus.
Mastery of traditional SQL query development.
Solid experience and understanding of software design patterns.
Extensive experience with database engines and distributed programming engines for data processing, especially with Spark.
Proven experience in integrating, designing, and building data pipelines.
Strong experience in deploying and maintaining data pipelines in production environments.
Knowledge of Big Data services in AWS: S3, EC2, Glue, Athena, Lambda, and EMR.
Advanced proficiency in both Spanish and English.
Desirable:
Experience in developing high-level streaming solutions.
Experience working with distributed message brokers in production.
Experience with non-relational databases, preferably Apache Cassandra.
Experience in implementing data warehousing using data modeling techniques.
Knowledge of data architecture fundamentals.
