Description:

Dext is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their fully remote team located in Bulgaria and the UK.
The role involves writing production-quality ELT code with a focus on performance and maintainability.
The engineer will collaborate with colleagues to ensure the business has all necessary data in a user-friendly structure.
They will work with the BI team and domain analysts to provide modelled data that supports business needs.
The position includes coaching analysts on software engineering best practices, particularly in dbt, Git, and data modelling.
The engineer is expected to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while following best practices such as test-driven development and continuous integration.
The role requires driving the adoption and integration of new technologies into the design.
Technologies and tools used include Singer, Airflow, Snowflake, dbt, Git, and Kubernetes infrastructure.

Requirements:

Candidates must have demonstrable experience in a similar role within a fast-paced, high-growth technology (ideally SaaS) business.
An ability to conceptualize, build, and develop tools that streamline data discovery across Dext is essential.
A good understanding of clean code and data warehousing architecture is required.
Knowledge of modern data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, and BigQuery is necessary.
Strong system skills, including an excellent understanding of Python and databases, along with strong SQL skills, are a must.
