Description:
Jobber is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Data Integration team, focusing on data modeling, engineering practices, and standards.
The Data Integration team is responsible for managing data ingress and egress critical to analytics, reporting, and decision-making.
The role involves developing tools and frameworks to enhance data accessibility and decision-making, building alerting and monitoring systems, and collaborating across functions.
The Senior Data Engineer will work closely with data platform engineers, data scientists, and product teams to sync data between Jobber and external systems.
Responsibilities include leading initiatives to research emerging technologies, participating in design and code reviews, and ensuring data integrity through best practices.
The position offers a remote work environment across Canada or a hybrid setting from offices in Edmonton or Toronto.
Requirements:
Candidates must have excellent ETL pipeline development skills and hands-on experience with orchestration tools like Airflow.
Experience with CI/CD practices, data ingestion systems (Fivetran/Airbyte), and reverse ETL systems (HighTouch/Census) is required.
Proficiency in dimensional modeling, star schemas, and warehousing concepts is essential.
Strong skills in SQL, stream processing, containerization (ECS orchestration), and AWS Lambda are necessary for creating reliable data solutions.
Candidates should possess the ability to explain complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Experience with CRM systems, data warehouses (Redshift), lakehouses (Iceberg/Delta), NoSQL databases, and RESTful/GraphQL APIs is a plus.
