  • Responsibilities include overseeing data architecture, data pipeline performance, and scalability of the customer data platform.
  • The engineer will design, deploy, and manage OLAP databases at scale for high-performance analytics.
  • They will implement and optimize event streaming pipelines using Kafka for real-time data processing.
  • The role involves managing and scaling Elasticsearch clusters for efficient data indexing and retrieval.
  • Ensuring data governance and schema management practices are followed to maintain data quality and compliance is essential.
  • The engineer will develop and maintain data lake architectures using AWS technologies, ensuring efficient data ingestion and retrieval.
  • Collaboration with product teams to define data schema and manage schema evolution is required.
  • The engineer will monitor key performance metrics and proactively address any issues related to the data platform.
  • Automation of infrastructure and data pipeline deployments using tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation is expected.
  • Implementing backup, disaster recovery, and failover procedures for critical data systems is part of the role.
  • The engineer will assist in building data governance frameworks to ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Support and optimization of SQL and NoSQL databases to meet high-volume data processing needs is necessary.
  • Collaboration with engineering and data science teams is crucial for efficient data flow and integration.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience designing and managing OLAP databases at scale, with a deep understanding of performance and query optimization.
  • Expertise in managing and scaling event streaming pipelines with Kafka or similar tools is required.
  • Experience deploying and optimizing Elasticsearch for search and analytics across large data volumes is essential.
  • A solid understanding of data governance and schema management, with experience in implementing data security and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) is necessary.
  • Hands-on experience managing data lake architectures using AWS technologies like Amazon S3, AWS Glue, and Lambda is required.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases and how to optimize them for high-throughput and low-latency operations is essential.
  • Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes for managing and automating cloud infrastructure is required.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and managing infrastructure as code is necessary.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and data science teams, is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and strategic thinking about long-term data architecture and governance are required.
  • A passion for data analytics and an understanding of building scalable systems for high-volume customer analytics is necessary.
