Description:
The Senior Data Engineer will play a pivotal role in large projects, utilizing data architecture and engineering expertise to meet high delivery standards.
The position is remote and available in various European locations including Paris, Madrid, Lisbon, Belgium, Amsterdam, Greece, Germany, Poland, Croatia, and France.
The role involves designing the data platform, including data ingestion, validation, transport, storage, and exposure to consumers.
Collaboration with other data engineering teams is essential to deliver analytics services, share technical knowledge, and define best practices.
The Senior Data Engineer will work closely with machine learning engineers to design and scale automation and intelligence features within the Pennylane application.
The position requires partnership with software engineers to ensure data quality and integrity, establishing data as a core part of production systems.
The role includes driving optimizations on core components to balance scalability and costs effectively.
The Senior Data Engineer will help shape an engineering culture with high standards by defining best practices, architecture patterns, and security measures.
The onboarding process includes learning about the company, teams, and vision, familiarizing with the technical stack, and delivering small projects within the first month.
By three months, the engineer will autonomously define and prioritize tasks and contribute to larger cross-team projects.
By six months, the engineer will actively define the teamβs roadmap and drive best practices within the team.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a strong background in data engineering and architecture.
Proficiency in AWS services, infrastructure as code, batch processing, scheduling, and data warehousing is required.
Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including software engineers and machine learning engineers, is essential.
The ability to establish data quality and integrity in production systems is necessary.
Candidates should be comfortable with defining best practices and security measures in data engineering.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize core components for scalability and cost-effectiveness are required.
A proactive approach to learning and adapting to new technologies and processes is expected.
