Description:
Going is a travel-tech company with over 2M subscribers, evolving from a deal-alert platform to a data-powered travel experience.
The Senior Data Engineer will lead the design, building, and scaling of a robust data infrastructure.
This role involves shaping the future of the data ecosystem to ensure it is scalable, efficient, and supports high-impact decision-making.
Responsibilities include designing complex data pipelines and ETL processes, developing and maintaining a data lakehouse, and optimizing data ingestion and storage strategies across cloud platforms.
The engineer will create and maintain data engineering best practices, collaborate with data science teams, and ensure high availability and performance of data infrastructure.
The role also includes conducting code reviews, mentoring junior team members, and troubleshooting data infrastructure issues.

Requirements:
A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role is required.
Proficiency in big data technologies such as Spark and Kafka, and distributed computing frameworks is essential.
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS EMR, Glue, and Databricks is necessary.
Expertise in Python, SQL, and modern data engineering frameworks like dbt and Airflow is required.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes is needed.
A strong track record of delivering scalable data pipelines and architecting end-to-end data solutions is expected.
Experience with advanced analytics workflows and supporting machine learning models is preferred.
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and translate technical challenges into business solutions is necessary.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and data governance best practices is required.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to work US-hours.

The starting salary for this role is $165,000 plus equity.
