Remote Senior Data Engineer

Description:

• Cash App is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Engineering Operations team.
• The role involves designing and building data pipelines to ensure data availability, accuracy, and reliability for engineering excellence initiatives.
• Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional partners to optimize system performance, enhance operational efficiency, and support strategic decision-making.
• The Data Engineer will work on developing a deep understanding of engineering operations, creating documentation, identifying new data sources, and leading the design and optimization of ETL processes.
• They will also monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, respond to queries from internal engineering teams, and translate data requirements into effective engineering solutions.

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate should have 4+ years of experience in solving complex data problems, focusing on building and optimizing ETL pipelines.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying relational databases and working with data warehousing solutions is required.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms like Snowflake, BigQuery, and orchestration tools such as Airflow is necessary.
• The candidate should be able to prioritize and deliver work independently, communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, and have a track record of leading data engineering projects with high business impact.
