Description:

  • As a Senior Data Engineer, you will ensure the quality, integrity, and security of Kin’s data assets.
  • You will be responsible for building out a data lakehouse for enterprise reporting, which includes designing and developing production-ready data pipelines and modeling raw data for downstream reporting.
  • You will work on a cross-functional project team to design solutions for effective reporting and implement data validation standards and QA procedures.
  • Your tasks will include optimizing pipeline performance, migrating data warehouse architecture to Lakehouse architecture, mentoring data engineers, and ensuring data security and compliance with regulations.

Requirements:

  • You must have 4+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, particularly with data structures and cloud platform environments (AWS preferred).
  • Experience in ETL performance tuning and cost optimization is required.
  • You should be familiar with data lake and lakehouse patterns, including open table formats like Iceberg, Hudi, and Delta.
  • Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy) and SQL for advanced data processing and querying is necessary.
  • Expertise in distributed data processing/storage technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, or Hadoop is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills are required to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • You should be detail-oriented with strong data intuition and a passion for data quality.
  • Proven ability to model data and build production-ready ETL pipelines handling TBs of data is necessary.
  • Great time management and prioritization skills are essential for success in this role.
