The Data team supports engineering, product, and analytics initiatives across the organization.
The Senior Data Engineer will lead the design, building, and scaling of a robust data infrastructure.
This role involves shaping the future of the data ecosystem to ensure it is scalable, efficient, and supports high-impact decision-making.
The position requires collaboration across teams to enhance data capabilities and deliver exceptional value to members.
The role reports to the Director of Data.
Key responsibilities include designing complex data pipelines, developing a data lakehouse, optimizing data ingestion and storage strategies, and maintaining data engineering best practices.
The engineer will collaborate with data science and analytics teams, develop data modeling techniques, ensure high availability of data infrastructure, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior team members.
Requirements:
A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role is required.
Proficiency in big data technologies such as Spark and Kafka, and distributed computing frameworks is necessary.
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS EMR, Glue, and Databricks is essential.
Expertise in Python, SQL, and modern data engineering frameworks such as dbt and Airflow is required.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes is needed.
A strong track record of delivering scalable data pipelines and architecting end-to-end data solutions is essential.
Experience with advanced analytics workflows, including machine learning models, is required.
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and translate technical challenges into business solutions is necessary.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and data governance best practices is required.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to work US-hours.
Preferred qualifications include AWS cloud platform certifications, Databricks certifications, IAM and security configuration experience, and experience with real-time data processing technologies.
