Opala is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their remote team, focusing on delivering secure solutions for complex data challenges in healthcare.
The role involves designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining the data-hub and associated integrations.
Key responsibilities include performing development tasks for ELT/ETL data movement, building end-to-end ETL pipelines, and supporting all SDLC activities in line with industry best practices.
The engineer will research and integrate design strategies, conduct investigations and tests, participate in special projects, and provide guidance to the data engineering team.
Troubleshooting complex problems and maintaining current knowledge of relevant technology are also essential duties.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 7+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in building ETL/ELT processes and developing with relational and non-relational databases such as MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, DynamoDB, and Cassandra is required.
Applicants should have at least 2 years of experience developing in a structured language like Python, Java, or C#.
Experience with data ingestion and egestion in formats including CSV, JSON, XML, and HL7 is necessary.
Advanced knowledge of data structures and queries in both relational and non-relational databases is essential.

The Seattle base salary range for this full-time position is $163k-$192k, with individual pay determined by work location and factors such as skills and experience.
