Description:
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Warsaw or work remotely.
The role involves designing and implementing a system to support decision-making for a US-based private investment firm.
You will integrate data from multiple systems and sources to enable data insights, machine learning, and data-driven decision processes.
Responsibilities include modeling datasets and schemas for consistency and easy access, designing and implementing data transformations and data marts, integrating third-party systems and external data sources into the data warehouse, and building data flows for fetching, aggregation, and data modeling using batch pipelines.
Requirements:
You must have at least 5 years of professional experience as a data engineer.
An undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar field is required.
Excellent command of spoken and written English, at least at the C1 level, is essential.
Strong professional experience with Python and SQL is necessary.
Hands-on experience with DBT and Snowflake is required.
Experience in building data pipelines with Airflow or alternative solutions is important.
A strong understanding of various data modeling techniques, such as Kimball Star Schema, is needed.
Great analytical skills and attention to detail, including the ability to ask questions and proactively search for answers, are crucial.
Creative problem-solving skills and great customer service and troubleshooting skills are also required.
Extra points will be awarded for expertise in AWS or Azure stack, experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, DevOps skills to automate deployment and streamline development, and a good understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS EKS.
