Description:
Carwow Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their remote team in the UK, Germany, Portugal, or Spain.
The mission of Carwow is to become the go-to destination for car-changing, providing reliable and actionable data to empower decision-making.
The role involves leading the design, development, and maintenance of ETL/ELT data pipelines, writing and optimizing SQL queries, and managing data workflows using tools like Airflow.
The engineer will design and maintain advanced data models and warehouses using Snowflake or similar technologies.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand complex data requirements and ensure high data quality and integrity is essential.
Continuous improvement of data engineering processes and infrastructure is a key responsibility.
The position offers support from an Engineering Manager for career progression and team performance.
Requirements:
Significant experience in software or data engineering, preferably in a senior or lead role, is required.
Proficiency in writing Python and SQL is essential.
Extensive experience in building and optimizing complex ETL/ELT data pipelines is necessary.
Familiarity with data transformation tools like dbt is preferred.
Experience in managing and optimizing script dependencies with tools like Airflow is required.
Substantial experience in designing and maintaining data warehouses using Snowflake or similar technologies is necessary.
Experience in leading and mentoring junior data engineers is preferred.
Ability to contribute to the strategic direction of data engineering practices within the organization is required.
Nice to have: experience with Terraform, Ruby, data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI), Amplitude, DevOps, Heroku, Kafka, AWS/GCP, etc.
