Description:
Thrive Market is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Data Engineering team.
The role involves building high-impact products alongside the Data Strategy Team.
The company is one of the fastest-growing e-commerce companies in Los Angeles, with millions of unique visitors each month.
Responsibilities include orchestrating and delivering cohesive data engineering solutions, taking ownership of the complete cycle of data services, and collaborating with various functional teams.
The engineer will troubleshoot and resolve production data integrity and performance issues, perform data source gap analysis, and develop a thorough understanding of cross-system integration.
The role requires designing and executing pilots/prototypes to validate scenarios and recommending technical functionality for Data Engineering.
The engineer will facilitate workshops to define requirements, maintain a repository of data architecture artifacts, and collaborate with IT teams and business owners to address data architecture needs.
Requirements:
Candidates must have hands-on experience programming in Python, Scala, or Java.
Expertise in RDBMS and Data Warehousing with strong SQL skills, particularly with Redshift, Snowflake, or similar technologies is required.
In-depth knowledge of data architecture patterns for Operational Data Stores, Data Warehouses, Data Marts, and Data Lakes is essential.
Proficiency in logical/physical data architecture design and development is necessary.
Experience with cloud-based or on-premise Data Lake/Big Data analytics platform implementation, preferably AWS, is required.
Candidates should have experience working with high volumes of data and in the design and support of distributed data applications.
Familiarity with CI/CD development tools, automation, and orchestration tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Concourse, Airflow, and Terraform is needed.
Experience with Kafka producers and consumers or AWS Kinesis is a plus.
Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies like Hadoop and Spark is required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with excellent communication and presentation skills.
