  • The Senior Data Engineer will lead by example in data engineering practices, demonstrating expertise in technologies such as Python, SQL, dbt, Snowflake, Airflow, and Kafka.
  • The role involves inspiring and mentoring data engineering teams, fostering a growth mindset, and leading initiatives to rebuild the team.
  • Responsibilities include building deployment pipelines for data workflows, collaborating with leadership on data engineering vision, and driving efforts to refactor and rebuild aging data infrastructure.
  • The Senior Data Engineer will champion modern data engineering practices, advocate for tidy code practices, and collaborate cross-functionally to solve complex technical challenges.
  • The position requires leading data engineering teams to deliver significant initiatives while managing timelines, resources, and risks effectively.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Candidates must have extensive experience (4+ years) in data engineering, focusing on leading teams and initiatives.
  • Proven expertise in various data engineering technologies, including SQL, Python, dbt, Snowflake, Apache Spark, Kafka, and Airflow is essential.
  • A strong understanding of modern data engineering practices, including data modeling, ETL processes, data quality assurance, and data pipeline orchestration is necessary.
  • Experience with data engineering tooling and platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake is highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills are required, with a record of leading collaborative and high-performing data engineering teams.
  • Candidates must demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and adapt to innovative data technologies as needed.
  • The ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a growth mindset and a commitment to continuous learning is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization is required.
