Description:
Gorilla Logic is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support critical data initiatives and ensure the optimal data delivery architecture is established and maintained.
Responsibilities include acting as a bridge between engineering and analytics, collaborating with the data team to develop a new ETL process, working with the engineering team to build a new Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), contributing to the governance strategy on the data platform, and addressing critical use cases.
The ideal candidate should be self-directed, comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, and possess strong communication skills.
Requirements:
Must have experience in designing and building data pipelines using traditional ELT/ETL tools.
Knowledge of modern techniques and tools for Data Engineering concepts, especially data ingestion, data quality control, curation, enrichment, and distribution.
Proficiency in traditional RDBMS and at least one cloud platform like AWS.
Familiarity with tools similar to AWS appflow for automating data flows between SaaS and AWS services.
Advanced experience in SQL and event-driven architectures (Pub/Sub, Kafka, RabbitMQ, AMQP, SNS, etc.).
Strong understanding of data governance concepts and 7+ years of experience working with Application Development teams.
Ability to own and optimize analytics schemas, design the structure of the data warehouse, and implement optimization techniques for data accessibility and distribution.
Experience in ETL scheduling, automating tasks, data refresh, and balancing processing/cost requirements with business needs.
Proficiency in modeling complex data sets to enable analytics teams to query and distribute business intelligence assets.
