Crunchyroll is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Data Engineering team, which focuses on building robust data services and pipelines.
The role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing data services and pipelines to support business needs.
The Senior Data Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable operational data analysis and enhance eventing systems.
This position emphasizes the importance of 100% automation and establishing best practices in data engineering.
The role is eligible for fully remote work and reports to the Director of Data Engineering - Platform Engineering.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in data engineering, particularly in building and optimizing data pipelines and architectures.
Extensive experience with the AWS cloud platform and its data-related services is necessary.
Proficiency in automation frameworks such as Terraform or Cloud Formation is required.
Candidates should be skilled in data lake and pipeline tools like Databricks, Apache Kafka/Kinesis, and AWS Glue.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java is essential.
A strong understanding of SQL (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake, RDS) and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB) is required, along with experience in enabling analytical queries.
Experience with search optimization, including schema design and query tuning, is necessary.
Candidates should have experience in building CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks (e.g., dbt).
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying issues are essential.
The ability to independently own and execute projects while collaborating with the team is required.
Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor junior engineers are necessary.
