Description:
ULTRA MOBILE is seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer to join the Data Management Team.
The individual will report to the Senior Manager, Data Engineering.
This role is remote, but candidates must reside in the United States.
Responsibilities include providing data to the company’s analysts and decision-makers by supporting and developing massive data pipelines.
The engineer will design efficient and scalable data pipelines for collecting, transforming, and loading data from various sources.
The role involves optimizing data storage solutions while implementing strategies for query performance, cost, and scalability.
The engineer will plan and support the identification of physical implementation requirements, including normalization/dimensional techniques and referential integrity.
Identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements is also a key responsibility, such as automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery.
Collaboration with analysts, data scientists, and business teams to recommend and improve data infrastructure is essential.
Requirements:
Candidates must have strong proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data engineering, such as Python and SQL.
A strong background in data warehousing concepts and schema design is required.
Understanding of popular code development approaches is necessary.
Experience working with AWS services, including Lambda, S3, Glue, Aurora, and Dynamo, is essential.
Candidates should be able to build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data-related issues with a focus on data quality and management are required.
Excellent communication skills are necessary to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bonus points for familiarity with Snowflake, Terraform, Bitbucket, Airflow, Jenkins, Kafka, and Kinesis.

The starting pay range for this role is $115,000 - $135,000, influenced by various factors such as skill set and experience.
