Description:

  • ULTRA MOBILE is seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer to join the Data Management Team.
  • The individual will report to the Senior Manager, Data Engineering.
  • This role is remote, but candidates must reside in the United States.
  • Responsibilities include providing data to the company’s analysts and decision-makers by supporting and developing massive data pipelines.
  • The engineer will design efficient and scalable data pipelines for collecting, transforming, and loading data from various sources.
  • The role involves optimizing data storage solutions while implementing strategies for query performance, cost, and scalability.
  • The engineer will plan and support the identification of physical implementation requirements, including normalization/dimensional techniques and referential integrity.
  • Identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements is also a key responsibility, such as automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery.
  • Collaboration with analysts, data scientists, and business teams to recommend and improve data infrastructure is essential.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have strong proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data engineering, such as Python and SQL.
  • A strong background in data warehousing concepts and schema design is required.
  • Understanding of popular code development approaches is necessary.
  • Experience working with AWS services, including Lambda, S3, Glue, Aurora, and Dynamo, is essential.
  • Candidates should be able to build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data-related issues with a focus on data quality and management are required.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bonus points for familiarity with Snowflake, Terraform, Bitbucket, Airflow, Jenkins, Kafka, and Kinesis.
