Description:

• EFG (ESL FACEIT Group) is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a small team focused on designing, building, and evolving a world-class data platform.
• The role involves serving as a technical leader, understanding customer needs, and designing appropriate solutions.
• Responsibilities include partnering with stakeholders, contributing to the technical strategy, and ensuring high standards in documentation, testing, resiliency, monitoring, and code quality.
• The Senior Data Engineer will write reusable and documented code, decompose complex problems, and construct architectures that integrate multiple services and SaaS tools.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have experience in shaping the architecture of a mature data platform that delivers quantifiable business value.
• Hands-on experience in building resilient batch and streaming data pipelines at scale (greater than 1 TB/day) is required.
• Proficiency in CI/CD practices for data engineering and experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform is necessary.
• Applicants should have designed and implemented scalable data models in cloud data warehouses and possess a strong understanding of database design principles.
• Experience with data observability, alerting, and incident management tools is essential, along with strong SQL and Python skills.
• Previous experience in a tech leadership role and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders is required.
• Candidates should be team players who enjoy learning and have a background in the Esports, Gaming, Betting, or Events industry as a plus.
