Description:
Nearform is a digital and AI engineering consultancy focused on creating transformative digital products for enterprise customers across the UK and Ireland.

The Senior Data Engineer will help enterprise clients translate their requirements into functional and appealing interactive applications.
Responsibilities include designing and building data pipelines and solutions using Python, AWS, Pyspark, SQL, Neo4j, and Airflow.
The role involves supporting system design, development, and maintenance while ensuring personal technical quality standards within the project team.
The engineer will assist in defining structured practices, especially in source code management, building, and deployment.
Additional tasks include designing and implementing data storage solutions, executing automated tests, troubleshooting applications, and optimizing for speed and scalability.
The position requires collaboration with client teams and supporting the Delivery Architect in project execution and timely delivery.
The engineer will also be responsible for writing documentation, following new technologies, and contributing to NearForm tooling and open-source projects.
Requirements:
Candidates must have excellent communication skills and advanced English proficiency for oral and written communication.
Experience delivering at a Senior Developer level in an enterprise environment is required.
Practical experience in an agile environment and developing real-world solutions and platforms is essential.
A deep understanding of server-side code, particularly in Python and SQL, is necessary.
Production experience with Snowflake or Databrick platforms is required.
Candidates should have a deep understanding of ELT/ETL pipelines, relational and document data stores, and modern web services.
Familiarity with modern testing methodologies, version control tools (including Git), and AWS serverless compute is important.
Understanding of security, performance considerations, architectural patterns in cloud environments, and deployment tools is required.
Excellent analytical, multitasking, communication, and collaboration skills are essential.
Empathy and people skills are also important for this role.
