The position is for a Senior Data Engineer specializing in Snowflake and Python within the finance sector, and it is remote, available to candidates anywhere in LATAM.
The role involves working in a forward-thinking and growth-oriented environment at a specialty financial services firm focused on U.S. mortgage loans and related investments.
The Senior Data Engineer will provide strategic guidance, design solutions, and act as the "chief architect" for specific sub-products.
Responsibilities include collaborating throughout the development life cycle, partnering with business analysts and customers to optimize requirements, and working with developers to validate key functionality and integration.
The engineer will ensure the feasibility of design and integration with existing systems and platforms.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5-7 years of experience in data engineering.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software development is required.
Deep experience with Snowflake and Stored Procedures is essential.
Extensive experience working with Python and modern web frameworks is necessary.
Experience with queueing systems such as Celery, SQS, or Pub/Sub is required.
Expert-level knowledge of Python 3, Object-Oriented Code, and Design Patterns is needed.
Strong experience with Python frameworks like Fast API, Flask, or Django is required.
Candidates must have strong experience with REST APIs and Git.
Strong experience in writing unit tests is necessary.
Experience utilizing at least one other modern language in a production application, with a preference for Typescript, is required.
Experience with Event Driven Systems and Microservices is essential.
Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and serverless architecture is required.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Cloudformation and CDK is necessary.
Knowledge of databases, both SQL and NoSQL, is required.
Candidates should have knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD and automated pipelines.
Experience with Agile methodologies, Scrum, and Jira is preferred.
Financial services experience, particularly in the mortgage industry, is a plus.
