Description:

Traction Ag is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their growing Engineering team, focusing on their innovative farm management platform.
The role involves writing software that integrates operational data, financials, and machine data to enhance visibility and actionable insights in large-scale agricultural operations.
Responsibilities include developing and supporting third-party integrations, ETL data processing jobs, and new REST APIs, as well as building internal data visualization dashboards.
The engineer will perform analysis and design of SQL queries, produce scripts for data management, and conduct data analysis as needed.
The ideal candidate should have a passion for innovation and making an impact in the agriculture industry.

Requirements:

Candidates must have working experience with Java, JavaScript, and Python.
Experience with databases such as MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL using persistence frameworks is required.
Familiarity with agile teams and the ability to gather, share, and analyze requirements with business users is essential.
Candidates should be able to perform basic and advanced processing tasks for Geospatial needs and build databases from imagery and cartographic sources.
Knowledge of AWS and other cloud service platforms, as well as familiarity with big data concepts and technologies, is necessary.
Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a drive for results are critical for success in this role.
