Description:
Blue Coding is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to work remotely with a US client in the life insurance sector.
The role involves the development and maintenance of systems in enterprise data and analytics environments.
Responsibilities include optimizing performance by building and supporting decision-making tools and collaborating with software engineering, AI/ML, Cybersecurity, and DevOps/SysOps teams.
The Data Engineer will design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and data stores that support enterprise data science, analytics, and operations.
The position requires identifying, tracking, and analyzing the performance of data layer services, implementing solutions to enhance stability and efficiency.
The role also includes guiding, coaching, and mentoring engineers, BI Developers, and analysts.
The work environment is fully remote and flexible, allowing for work from anywhere in the listed countries.
Requirements:
A Bachelorโs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
Expertise in data management using both structured (SQL) and unstructured (NoSQL) approaches is necessary, with Redshift experience being a plus.
Proficiency in data visualization principles, particularly with PowerBI and Tableau, is required.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira is essential.
Knowledge of software development life cycles, including git and cloud-native technologies such as S3, EMR (Spark), Lambda, Kinesis, Firehose, Glue, and Terraform is needed.
Programming expertise in Python and/or Scala is required, along with an understanding of infrastructure as code principles.
Experience in data pipeline design, database modeling for analytical datasets, and cloud software monitoring/alerting is necessary.
Familiarity with client/server concepts, including SFTP, APIs, and web scraping, is important.
Strong communication skills and a commitment to professional growth in data engineering and architecture are essential.
Proven ability to design enterprise-scale solutions with long-term business impact is required.
Leadership capabilities, including coaching and mentoring peers, are necessary.
Excellent time management and independent problem-solving skills are required, along with a self-motivated work ethic.
1-5 years of experience in data engineering or a technical role within data environments is necessary.
