Blue Coding is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to work remotely from Latin America.
The company specializes in hiring developers and professionals from Latin America and has been supporting companies in the US and Canada for over 10 years.
The role involves working with a foreign client that is a market leader in technology services for mid to large global enterprises.
The client is building a modern data warehouse on Amazon Redshift, AWS Glue, and S3, replacing legacy ETL processes.
Responsibilities include designing, building, and optimizing cloud data pipelines, migrating from SQL Server to Redshift, and implementing scalable ETL with AWS Glue.
The Data Engineer will collaborate with BI and business teams to transform raw data into reliable insights.
Daily tasks include designing and implementing a data warehouse, developing ETL pipelines, structuring the S3 data lake, defining data models, establishing data governance, and optimizing costs.
The role requires troubleshooting data infrastructure issues and contributing to the long-term vision for the data platform.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of related work experience in data engineering, data architecture, or a similar role.
Strong SQL and Python skills are necessary, with PySpark being a plus.
Experience in building ETL pipelines, preferably in AWS Glue, Airflow, or similar tools, is required.
Knowledge of data modeling, including star schema and slowly changing dimensions, is essential.
The ability to lead technical decisions in a small team environment without heavy oversight is important.
A budget-conscious mindset with experience in optimizing cloud costs (Redshift, Glue) is required.
Candidates should possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, strong organizational skills, and effective time management abilities.
