Remote Senior Data Modeler (AU IT Services, Home-based) Contractual

Description:

• Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support various initiatives and business-as-usual (BAU) requirements.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Translate high-level business requirements into data models, metadata, test data, and data quality standards.
• Work closely with data engineering to implement designs using best practices and appropriate tooling.
• Evaluate and define data modeling best practices, standards, and guidelines for consistency and maintainability.
• Optimize database performance and scalability by fine-tuning data models and recommending indexing strategies.
• Collaborate with system owners to identify data gaps and champion data governance, risk, and compliance controls.
• Communicate technical concepts and data model designs to non-technical stakeholders.
• Document data models, data dictionaries, and metadata to facilitate data lineage and governance initiatives.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Modeler.
• Ability to develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models based on business requirements.
• Strong SQL skills and experience in end-to-end data processing, reporting, and analytics.
• Experience in regulatory, risk, or financial transformation is an advantage.
• Ability to build strong relationships with various stakeholders.
• Proficiency in translating business requirements into data models and metadata.
• Experience in optimizing database performance and scalability.
• Expertise in defining data modeling best practices, standards, and guidelines.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficient in documenting data models, data dictionaries, and metadata.
