We are a Polish branch of a fast-growing InsurTech product company from Silicon Valley, Hippo Insurance, aiming to revolutionize home insurance in the US.
The role is for a Senior Data Platform DevOps Engineer, which can be performed in Warsaw or remotely.
You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable data infrastructure and pipelines.
Your tasks will include automating data integration and processing tasks to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Collaboration with different teams is essential to ensure proper data handling and adherence to best practices for data governance and compliance.
You will enhance the productivity of Data Engineers and developers by providing tools, metrics, CI/CD processes, and other self-service tools.
The position involves working with various cloud providers, databases, and open-source tools such as Terraform, Vault, Kubernetes, and Docker.
Daily programming will involve using Golang, Python, and scripting languages like Bash to build and scale tools, APIs, and serverless functions.
You will have significant creative freedom and ownership over your projects.

Requirements:

A minimum of 6 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Data Engineering, with knowledge of build/release automation and data governance is required.
Proficiency in Golang, Python, or Bash is necessary.
Familiarity with data storage and processing technologies, including SQL/NoSQL databases, data warehouses, object storage (like S3), or ETL tools is expected.
Understanding of AWS VPC or GCP networking, including concepts like network separation, security groups, and ACLs is essential.
Hands-on experience with tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD systems, Terraform, and Airflow is required.
Comfort with logging and metrics systems to maintain operational efficiency is necessary.
Enjoyment of working in a small, focused, and highly efficient team is important.
A good command of English (both written and spoken) is required.
Availability in the afternoons for collaboration with the United States is necessary, with a focus on work-life balance.

The salary ranges from 24,000 to 30,000 PLN + VAT on B2B or equivalent on the contract of employment.
