Remote Senior Data Platform Engineer

Description:

• The Senior Data Platform Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable distributed systems & infrastructure.
• They will work closely with Data Analytics and Data Science teams, as well as Platform Engineering and Product Engineering teams.
• The role involves managing applications and infrastructure across cloud services, requiring knowledge of cloud platforms, software design patterns, operations, automation, and containerization technologies like Kubernetes.
• The candidate will design and implement foundational patterns and libraries for Python applications, utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, and develop infrastructure for applications hosted on AWS.
• Responsibilities include maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automating lifecycle management of code, instrumenting observability, scaling infrastructure, and delivering a turn-key developer experience.
• Strong communication skills tailored to various audiences are essential for this role.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of professional experience in an engineering function with a strong understanding of challenges in a data organization.
• Experience in designing and implementing foundational patterns and libraries for Python applications.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and designing infrastructure for applications hosted on AWS.
• Ability to develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate lifecycle management of code, and scale infrastructure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
