Description:

Gorilla Logic is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to work on a MySQL to PostgreSQL migration, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
The role involves assisting with Kubernetes migrations, Terraform refactoring, and CI/CD improvements.
Responsibilities include driving and supporting the MySQL to PostgreSQL migration, improving database replication, failover, and high availability strategies.
The engineer will ensure logging, monitoring, and observability of best practices, contribute to cloud security, scalability, and performance tuning.
The position also involves supporting monorepo decomposition by breaking Terraform-based infrastructure into modules and migrating Kubernetes clusters to enhance scalability, security, and GCP integration.
The engineer will refactor and optimize Terraform configurations for better performance and enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in Database Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps.
A strong knowledge of MySQL and PostgreSQL, including data migration strategies, is required.
Knowledge in Kubernetes (GKE) and Terraform is essential.
Hands-on experience with GCP services and multi-cluster deployments is necessary.
Proficiency in Google Cloud SQL and GCP database services is required.
Candidates should have proficiency in SQL query optimization and performance tuning.
A strong understanding of PostgreSQL architecture, indexing, partitioning, and query tuning is needed.
Experience with CI/CD automation, observability, and cloud security is required.
Proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash scripting is necessary.
