As a Data Platform Engineer, you will develop and support processes and systems that empower teams across Salsify to collect, process, and drive impact using their data.
The Data Platform Team plays a crucial role in defining the future of Salsify’s data capabilities, supporting existing and future needs.
You will define processes, engineer interfaces and tools for data collection, processing, storage, and consumption.
Collaboration with product teams is essential to define and build internal and customer-facing data products, including the design, development, and operationalization of data pipelines.
You will provide guidance on data modeling, data quality, and handling large-scale data in collaboration with Product and Engineering teams.
The role emphasizes improving and expanding data infrastructure using DataOps principles, focusing on observability, reliability, security, and quality.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
Practical experience in data modeling, analysis of large data sets, data pipelines and orchestration, ETL, data lakes, data warehousing, and data engineering tools and platforms is necessary.
Knowledge of core and analytics AWS services such as S3, Athena, Redshift, EMR, and Spark is essential.
Excellent SQL skills are required, along with practical knowledge of Python, Java, or Scala.
