Description:
Honor is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable distributed systems and infrastructure.
The data platform engineering team is responsible for building and managing the infrastructure, core services, tools, and platforms that enable data storage, processing, and access across Honor.
This role is highly technical and hands-on, requiring extensive experience in managing applications and infrastructure across cloud services.
Candidates should have deep practical knowledge of cloud platforms, advanced software design patterns and architecture, operations and automation, and containerization technologies like Kubernetes.
The engineer will collaborate closely with Data Analytics and Data Science teams, as well as partner with Platform Engineering and Product Engineering teams.
The ideal candidate should be driven by providing business value and comfortable working with systems at varying levels of maturity.

Requirements:
Candidates must have at least 5 years of professional experience in an engineering function with a strong understanding of challenges in a data organization.
Experience in software, platform, or data engineering is required.
The candidate should be able to design and implement foundational patterns and libraries for Python applications across various data-focused technologies.
Proficiency in utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to ensure reproducible and scalable environment setups is necessary.
Experience in designing and implementing infrastructure for applications hosted on AWS, supporting event-driven systems, containerized services on Kubernetes, and data pipelines managed by tools such as Airflow is required.
Candidates must develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and ArgoCD.
Experience in automating the lifecycle management of code from development through production, including code promotion and configuration management, is essential.
The candidate should be able to instrument observability through tools such as CloudWatch and DataDog to monitor and optimize application performance.
Candidates must have the ability to scale infrastructure to meet increasing demand while managing costs effectively.
A passion for delivering a turn-key developer experience for local development is important.
Strong written and verbal communication skills tailored to a variety of audiences are required.

Honor offers a competitive salary range of $171,500 - $190,000 USD for this position.
