Description:

  • Flowhub is seeking a Senior Data & Reliability Engineer to join their remote team.
  • The company aims to make legal cannabis accessible and has developed user-friendly business management and compliance products.
  • The role involves ensuring that Flowhub's systems are fast, reliable, and deliver accurate data efficiently.
  • Responsibilities include designing and implementing efficient data flows, partnering with product managers and stakeholders, and working closely with PostgreSQL and ClickHouse databases.
  • The engineer will implement data alerting systems, act as a subject matter expert on performance tuning, enhance observability tools, and mentor teammates.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must be self-driven, performance-oriented problem solvers with a talent for identifying and optimizing technical bottlenecks.
  • Proficiency in data systems, particularly PostgreSQL and ClickHouse, is essential.
  • Strong communication skills are required to effectively convey complex technical topics to various stakeholders.
  • Candidates should be agile and pragmatic, comfortable iterating on solutions without over-engineering.
  • Proficiency in technologies such as React.js, Golang, GraphQL, and/or Python is necessary, along with a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Experience with observability tooling to resolve performance issues is required.
  • Proven experience in performance tuning, data engineering, and/or reliability engineering within complex applications is preferred.
  • A strong background in relational databases and familiarity with query optimization and schema design best practices is necessary.
  • Experience in cloud environments, particularly Google Cloud Platform, is preferred.
