Remote Senior Data Scientist

Description:

• The Senior Data Scientist will be responsible for the design, architecture, and delivery of features or components/products with the highest quality.

• Researching and implementing novel machine learning and statistical approaches is a key responsibility.
• The Senior Data Scientist will work closely with software engineering teams to drive real-time model implementations and new feature creations.
• The role involves working closely with business owners and operations staff to optimize various business operations.
• Establishing scalable, efficient, automated processes for large-scale data analyses, model development, model validation, and model implementation is essential.
• The candidate will mentor and coach engineers to facilitate their development and provide technical leadership.
• The role requires the ability to see broader issues and implications for the whole product/team.

Requirements:

• A BS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operational Research, Statistics, or a highly quantitative field is required.
• The candidate must have 7+ years of hands-on experience in applied Machine Learning, Big Data, and products.
• A strong grasp of the depth and breadth of knowledge in machine learning, data mining, and data analytics concepts as well as executions is essential.
• Strong problem-solving abilities are required.
• The candidate must have strong knowledge of scientific programming in scripting languages like Python.
• Experience in designing and implementing information retrieval, web mining, neural networks, and other classification algorithms is necessary.
• The ideal candidate should be a big thinker who can take broad visions and concepts and develop structured plans, actions, and measurable metrics, then execute those plans.
• Expertise in using Python as well as with Spark ML, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or similar machine/deep learning open-source software libraries is required.
• Superior organization, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are essential.
• The candidate must be a proven performer and team player who enjoys challenging assignments in a high-energy, fast-growing, and start-up workplace.
• A self-starter who can work well with minimal guidance in a fluid environment is necessary.
• The candidate must be excited by challenges surrounding the development of massively scalable and distributed systems.
• Agility and the ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements, scope, and priorities are required.
• Experience in the online commerce domain (Retail/CPG/Restaurants/Hospitality) is preferred.
• This is a remote (work from home) position.
