Description:
Guidewire is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join a new team focused on building advanced predictive models for the P&C insurance market.
The role involves developing leading-edge predictive models using data from multiple insurance companies.
Responsibilities include data preparation, external data research and acquisition, data profiling and harmonization across carriers, feature development, NLP/ML modeling, model validation and interpretation, and business value assessment and product pricing analyses.
Additional tasks may include new feature development, external data research, and providing user feedback on new products and tools under development.
Requirements:
Candidates must hold a Masters or Ph.D. in a relevant field.
Experience with statistical modeling tools such as SAS, Emblem, DataRobot, or proficiency in Python or R is required.
Expert SQL skills are necessary for this position.
Candidates should be FCAS or near FCAS with appropriate work experience.
A minimum of 7 years of experience in an actuarial role within the US or Canadian P&C industry, either with a carrier or consulting firm, is required.
Familiarity with P&C policy administration and claims processing concepts is essential.
A passion for solving complex data problems is expected.
Experience working with Guidewire ClaimCenter and/or PolicyCenter data is preferred.
Strong communication skills to convey insights to both technical and non-technical personnel at all levels of the organization are necessary.
A strong customer orientation and the ability to support sales conversations with customers are important.
Candidates should be able to plan and execute projects with minimal direction while being a team player.
Self-motivation and attention to detail are essential traits for this role.
Benefits:
The position offers a competitive salary range of $131,000 to $179,000 per year.
