Description:

Oura is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to advance their physiological feature pipeline and enhance biomarker and wearable health data capabilities.
The ideal candidate will have experience in machine learning and clinical research related to health data, and should be comfortable in ambiguous problem spaces.
This role is remote within the U.S., with a preference for candidates located on the East Coast.
Responsibilities include contributing to the development of new human physiology-based features and sensor technology, transforming multi-sensor data into actionable health metrics, and developing reusable data analytics tools.
The Senior Data Scientist will also participate in the strategic roadmap development, lead data collections, write scientific reports, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements:

Candidates should have 6+ years of experience in Data Science, particularly with biomarker and wearable data, and possess a strong understanding of physiology.
Proficiency in Python is essential, along with a strong track record in deep learning and multimodal data fusion for sequential data.
Experience with forecasting models, optimization models, statistical analysis, and simulations is required.
An advanced degree (Masters) in a STEM-related field or equivalent work experience is necessary.
Expert-level experience in building and deploying data science products using AWS tools, SQL, GitHub, and Pytorch, along with knowledge of C++ is expected.
Strong project management skills and the ability to work with a diverse, distributed team are important.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
A proactive mindset and the ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver solutions are essential.
