Description:

  • The Senior Data Scientist position at Spotify Advertising focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines, data science, and ML-based solutions to drive advertiser and revenue growth.
  • The role involves supporting the adoption and implementation of generative AI and ML models to unlock ad creative insights globally.
  • You will collaborate with Engineers, Research Economists, and business analysts to lead creative insights from a Data Science perspective.
  • Responsibilities include partnering with business partners to understand problems and reframing them as data science solutions, delivering complex problems independently, and writing code (Python, R, SQL) to manipulate and analyze large datasets.
  • You will build statistical models, design experiments, and communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to key partners.
  • The position requires working closely with a cross-functional team and prioritizing business solutions across various product areas.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 5 or more years of experience in a similar data science role and a degree in economics, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Comfort in building and maintaining large, complex datasets is essential.
  • Technical competence in advanced analytics using coding skills (SQL, Python, R) is required.
  • Experience in causal inference and experimental design is necessary.
  • A broad knowledge of ML methods, statistical analysis, and strong problem-solving skills are expected.
  • Candidates should have experience in taking project ideas from conception to execution through self-driven scoping, planning, and stakeholder communication.
  • Proven experience in building statistical models with a measurable business impact is required.
  • The ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders and engage in nuanced discussions with engineers is essential.
  • Collaboration with Data Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, and Research Scientists is expected.
  • Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) is preferred.
  • Bonus points for experience analyzing ad creatives or ad tech.
