Description:
Xometry is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their cost prediction team.
The role involves using machine learning tools and techniques to construct, optimize, and evaluate predictive models for various business outcomes.
The candidate will utilize their knowledge of probability and statistics to make defensible statistical inferences from data.
Responsibilities include developing predictive models using 3D data, preparing and cleaning data, and using cloud resources like Amazon Web Services for data processing.
The position requires querying and extracting data from databases such as Snowflake and MongoDB.
The candidate will use data analysis and visualization tools, including SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, and Looker, to inform business strategy.
The role demands relentless iteration of solutions in a fast-paced environment characterized by ambiguity.
The candidate will tackle challenging, uncharted problems and work in a collaborative environment that promotes teamwork and continuous learning.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in applied math, computer science, natural sciences, or engineering.
An M.S. or PhD in a related field is highly desired.
The candidate must have 5+ years of experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, and optimization techniques.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in 3D deep learning, specifically with Mesh, Volumetric, and/or Point Clouds, is required.
Proficiency in Python, particularly with libraries such as pandas, numpy, SciPy, and scikit-learn, is essential.
The candidate should be proficient in linear algebra and statistics.
Familiarity with scientific software principles, including versioning systems, reproducibility, and code deployment, is necessary.
Experience in the manufacturing industry is desired.
The candidate must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder due to ITAR regulations.
