Description:

CARTO is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to work remotely, preferably in the Central European Time zone, or from their offices in Madrid or Seville.
The role involves developing new algorithms and datasets that leverage spatial data to enhance insights and predictions using CARTO’s spatial analytics platform.
Responsibilities include building data science models to solve complex business problems, designing and running data science experiments, and participating in all phases of the Data Science product lifecycle.
The candidate will lead research on new Spatial Data Science methods, collaborate with engineering and product teams, and communicate findings to facilitate operational decisions for clients.
The position also requires presenting work at conferences and keeping up to date with industry developments.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a relevant education and at least 5 years of experience in Data Science, with exposure to various use cases and technologies.
A strong statistical background and experience applying data science techniques in production are essential.
Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python is required, along with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Experience working with geospatial data and hands-on experience with cloud platforms like Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure is necessary.
Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI techniques is preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with fluency in English, are mandatory.
