Wealthsimple is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for their Data Products Team, focusing on large language models (LLMs) to enhance various business aspects.

Software engineering best practices, such as version control and continuous integration, must be applied to ensure models are well-tested and maintained.
The role emphasizes simplicity and effectiveness in problem-solving, adhering to the principle of Occam's razor.

Requirements:
Proven experience as a data scientist or machine learning engineer, specifically in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Reinforcement Learning (RL), or Large Language Models (LLMs) is required.
Proficiency in Python and familiarity with key data science and machine learning libraries and tools is essential.
Demonstrated experience in productionalizing ML models, with a track record of managing the full lifecycle of ML model development is necessary.
A deep understanding of large language models such as GPT-4, GPT4ALL, and Bloomchat, including their applications and limitations, is required.
Familiarity with LLM concepts like fine-tuning models and libraries such as Langchain and Kor is expected.
Solid knowledge of data engineering and preprocessing, including handling large datasets and managing data pipelines, is essential.
Comfort with software engineering best practices, including version control and collaborative development using Git, is required.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively are necessary.
Excellent communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly to various audiences are essential.
Outstanding interpersonal skills to thrive in collaborative settings and contribute positively to team environments are required.
Familiarity with AI ethics and responsible AI practices, ensuring solutions are effective and ethical, is expected.
